Climate Overview

Seasons

MONSOON - June to September

Sagara receives abundant rainfall during the monsoon, turning the region into a vibrant green paradise. Streams, rivers, and waterfalls, including the iconic Jog Falls, swell to their fullest, creating breathtaking scenery. Frequent showers enhance the dramatic beauty of the Malnad region, making the monsoon season the most lively and picturesque time to experience Sagara.

WINTER - October to February


Temperatures in Sagara range between 15ºC and 25ºC, making winter the most comfortable season. The crisp, cool air is ideal for exploring nearby forests, wildlife sanctuaries, and birdwatching sites. Plantation trails of areca, coffee, and pepper come alive during this season. Days are perfect for sightseeing and trekking, while evenings offer opportunities for cozy gatherings and cultural experiences.

 

SUMMER - March to May


Summer in Sagara is milder than in many other parts of Karnataka, with temperatures ranging from 22ºC to 32ºC. While afternoons can be slightly warm, mornings and evenings remain pleasant due to the surrounding dense forests and rivers. This season is ideal for exploring heritage temples, experiencing local culture, and trekking nearby trails before the onset of the monsoon.
